Recreation Teams
Our recreation players start at age 3 or 4 and learn the basics of balance, coordination, ball control,, and social behavior which evolves into the concept of teamwork as the become older. Depending on how mature your 3 year old is, a team based environment may be too challenging initially and we recommend the Happy Feet Program which concentrates on coordination and socialization.
Under 6 (3, 4, and 5 year olds) and under 8 (6 and 7 year olds) play on coed teams. One practice and one game on Saturday morning are typical. Under 10 (8 and 9 year old) and older (U12,U14,U15) boys and girls play on separate teams. By this time, twice per week games and a game on Saturday are typical. Successful teams may choose to participate in local tournaments.
Recreational Academy Program
More advanced U10 (9 year old) players may choose a more competitive environment by entering our Academy program. This is a more intensive exposure to soccer skills training and tactics provided typically by paid professional coaches. Players typically have 2-3 practices per week and may play multiple games on a weekend  (Saturday and Sunday commitments) as well as several tournaments throughout the year that could involve extended driving time and hotel stays. The cost to an individual player's family is more than the normal recreation program (minimum of 2-5 times as much). The family commitment can be substantial getting a player to practices games, and tournaments. The advantage is there is no better preparation to enter a Competitive Soccer Program as a part of CFC or any local club and/or high school program.
